Update

Bhim Rai, a Tara Air spokesperson, reported 21 deaths at first, including all passengers and three crew members. This figure was later corrected to 23 after a discovery that two infants were on board as well. On the flight were two foreigners, one from China and one from Kuwait. The route is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Nepal and among Himalayan trekking routes.

Although all of the plane's passengers have been pronounced dead, authorities have recovered only 19 bodies so far. The plane broke into fragments, and the bodies were unrecognizable.
